NFL franchise Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill has left many fans in shock with recent social media activity. Hill recently posted a jersey retirement announcement on his official Twitter account that shocked many Chiefs fans. The tweet seems cryptic and perplexing since Hill dons the number 10 jersey while playing for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs wideout is also reportedly entering the final year of his 3-year 2019 contract extension, and the organization looks at options to tie him down long term. Hill has been letting his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, swap proposals with the franchise as they look to negotiate a lucrative yet conventional NFL deal.

The expiring contract in its final year will charge almost $20.685 million against their salary cap. The speedy WR is due for a pay rise that could make him the second most paid player in his position.
Currently, Hill ranks 6th in the league with $18 million, and a new contract will make him earn nearly $20 million or even higher. The 6-time Pro Bowler has been a key part of the Kansas City offensive line and the No.1 passing outlet for QB Patrick Mahomes.
Tyreek Hill sends Chiefs fans into panic mode
The reason behind Hill posting that tweet was because he was part of the Tyreek Hill Day event at his high school. He went to Coffee High School to celebrate his accomplishments and to motivate youth in the community to dream big. During the special event, his high school jersey was retired, as he indulged with his fans, young and old.

The 3-time First-Team All-Pro wideout might be a player that the Chiefs organization can’t afford to lose under any circumstance. Hill has been the only player in the Chiefs WR department to record back-to-back campaigns of 1,200-plus yards and nine-plus TDs. Though it was a false alarm, tying him down to a cap-friendly contract would be a priority.
