Following a stellar season in 2021 NFL, the Cincinnati Bengals made it to the Super Bowl after 33-long-years. Additionally, placekicker, Evan McPherson had a campaign worthy of the title of biggest steal in the draft.
The Bengals drafted Evan McPherson as a fifth-round, 149 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft from the University of Florida. Moreover, he was the only placekicker selected in the draft. Hence, the rookie kicker has become a household name after posting an amazing season.

The wunderkind, Evan McPherson
In the 16 games he played this season, the former Gators kicker went for 28-of-33 field goals and completed with an 84.8 percentage. In addition, he converted 46-of-48 extra points and went for 14-of-14 field goals in the postseason, tying an NFL record.

The rookie not only lit up the season with his play in games but also with his character. During the Super Bowl Halftime Show, when all players went into their locker rooms, he decided to stay on the field to watch the performances.

Furthermore, prior to the game-winning field goal against the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Divisional Playoffs, McPherson said, “Well, looks like we’re going to the AFC Championship Game.” Therefore, he not only called the game but also ended up winning it with his 52-yard field goal.

After such an outstanding season, the rookie has etched his name in the Bengals lore. He helped his team win several games with impressive field goals. Therefore, the only kicker from his draft class has proved to be the biggest steal of the 2021 NFL Draft.
