Aaron Rodgers is back. Adding ‘better than ever’ to the previous statement would be pushing it, but seeing the quarterback back in action is relieving. To top it all off, it looks like A-Rod is on his way to building a solid connection with Christian Watson. The rookie receiver was an integral part of the Packers’ victory over the Chicago Bears. Head coach Matt LaFleur was quite impressed with the poise of the Packers’ offensive line. Rodgers, who caused a lot of speculation about his presence in the game, showed up and took the victory.

After watching the Bears take the lead, most fans would have expected Rodgers and the Packers to mark another loss in their books. But Green Bay rallied with all its might. Their quarterback, who has been having a less-than-spectacular season, looked better than he did in his last game.

Seeing him back on the field after witnessing the former MVP leaving the game because of injuries may have been a relief to the Packers’ Nation. But is this victory an indication that Aaron Rodgers is hale and healthy?

Although the quarterback’s thumb has been an issue for most of this season, Rodgers unsurprisingly plays through the pain. He looked a lot better against the Bears and the Packers’ victory, especially after losing seven of their last eight games. Speaking to the media post their victory, Rodgers was asked about calling the last touchdown during the huddle. The athlete said that he expected them to play some man coverage, so he ran over to the sideline to verify that they weren’t in a Rolex situation where they wanted not to score. Rodgers added that head coach Matt LaFleur looked a little surprised by the question. He said, “I think Matt was maybe a little surprised by the question. ‘Hey, if this comes out of the gate, do you want him to score or not?’ And he said ‘Score.’”

LaFleur’s surprise is understandable. With two minutes on the clock, at 20-19, it wasn’t as if the Packers has a solid lead. But soon after, they were unstoppable. Watson, for one, flew into the end-zone. Speaking of what he said during the huddle, Rodgers said, “I just came in and said, ‘Don’t worry about going down if this comes out of the gate.’ When I came off the handoff to the fake to AJ and I felt like the whole side of the line was over there, I figured it was probably going to be a good play.” It was a good play indeed. With two defenders on the left of the field, one of them handed the fake to AJ Dillion. Watson flew down the field as the Packers went on to take the victory.

The Packers have managed to take the victory but can’t get too comfortable. The Packers are still behind the mighty Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions in the NFC North. With a slim shot at the postseason, every victory counts. The Green Bay Packers will face the defending champions, the Los Angeles Rams in their next bout.
