In the tenth episode of his podcast show, The Draymond Green Show, Draymond praised Ja’Marr Chase and backed his decision to sit out the final year of his college football career.

“I thought The Cincinnati Bengals game was also an incredible game, it’s incredible to see Joe Burrow, the way he has taken over that team. And Ja’Marr Chase is insane. Like Jamarr Chase is….is so good. He’s is probably the best receiver in the NFL right now today as a rookie”, Draymond praised Ja’Marr on his show.

Ja’Marr decided not to play for LSU during the 2020 college football season. According to CBS, Ja’Marr said, “The competitor in me badly wants to play the season and go to war with my brothers, but during this time with so much going on, this is what’s best for my family… I cannot ignore what I feel in my heart, and this ultimately is the best decision for me. I’ll look forward to returning to the field in 2021.” However, two weeks later he officially declared for the 2021 NFL draft.

Draymond’s concern for Ja’Marr and other young-athletes

Draymond was worried if the NFL had judged him based on his inactivity last year, they would have missed out on Ja’Marr Chase. Further, he argued that the issue with sitting out is that players go undrafted. He said, “most guys when they do stuff like that they usually fall in the draft, Ja’Marr Chase didn’t fall.” Nevertheless, this was not the case with Ja’Marr, who was rightfully acquired to play in the NFL.

He said, “one of the things Shannon said was when coaches change programs all the time, and you have all these people leave on….. on these kids or young-student-athletes and then once a student-athletes does it then it’s a problem.”

Draymond’s major concern was that players were not treated with the same level of respect as general managers, organizations as a whole, and coaches. He believes this is an outrageous policy and that players should be treated with the same consideration.

Ja’Marr Chase: The star-rookie from Louisiana

Ja’Marr Chase is a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL. Ja’Marr played for LSU and had a lot of hype surrounding him and his potential. In the 2021 NFL draft, he was drafted as the 5th overall pick and was reunited with his college quarterback Joe Burrow.

After being drafted, he made a bold statement and said that he would break all the team’s receiving records. In the regular season, Ja’Marr racked up 1455 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns and was named Offensive Rookie of the Month this past September.

Even though Ja’Marr Chase at age 20, has already proven that he could be a major contributor in the NFL. It’s going to come sooner than we thought; Ja’Marr Chase is a star in the making.
