A recent development in ‘Rodgers Chronicle’ suggests that there is too much similarity between him and the team’s former starting QB’s fate.
Although the elite QB hasn’t retired yet, he is still under contract with a lot of money that is to be paid to him. Therefore, a decision from his side is pending.
Yes Aaron Rodgers has a $60M guarantee next year and yes, that's a ton of money to walk away from.
But:

Although the deal may sound nice, it’s a bribe, and that is illegal. His divorce from the team was a messy one. But Favre once revealed that he was the one who was at fault.
