Despite giving an underwhelming performance in the first preseason game, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was heaping praise for Jordan Love at quarterback. On Friday, the Green Bay Packers clinched a thumping victory over the Niners, which inadvertently boosted the confidence of HC to consider Love as a potential prospect to replace Aaron Rodgers in the future. He said that Love was ”Light years ahead” compared to his previous performances and is looking forward to seeing more action for the franchise.

The Utah product completed 12 of 24 passes for 113 yards and one touchdown against the Saints. Similarly, he connected for 13 passes out of 24 for 176 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions against the San Francisco 49ers. “If you asked our guys in that locker room, they’d tell you that they have a lot of confidence in him,” LaFleur said.

“We could all agree in that locker room that he’s one of the most improved guys over the last year,” he added. Statistically, these claims contradict reality. Last preseason, Jordan Love made sure that he completed two-thirds of his passes and fewer interceptions. But according to LaFleur, the 23-year-old has evolved as a more mature and decisive player.

This season, the quarterback room for the Packers is not expected to create a headache with Rodgers at the helm. However, wide receivers are the ones creating problems with inconsistent gameplays. The HC addressed this issue in the press conference and vowed to consider the situation seriously.

He said the tracks now and then were similar, and the only thing that takes is consistency. ” The most important thing for a quarterback is the confidence, and the confidence comes from the consistency and the fundamentals and making plays in practice and feeling good about the offense,” Rodgers explained.
