The Green Bay Packers have quite a few options when it comes to quarterbacks. Blessed with 2020 NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers and 2020 first-round draft pick Jordan Love, the franchise’s QB depth chart runs deep.

But despite having two NFL starters on their roster, the franchise recently found itself looking for another quarterback. With starting QB Aaron Rodgers sitting out the side’s preseason games, young Jordan Love was called on to suit up for the Packers.

Handed his first NFL start Love had a decent outing. Registering a little over 100 passing yards and touchdown, Love looked in great form until late in the second quarter of their tie against the Houston Texans, when he picked up a knock.

Sacked by the Texans defense, Jordan Love was slightly rattled and taken off as a precaution. While the QB hasn’t picked up any serious injury, the Packers are choosing not to risk Love for their second preseason game of this year.

Thus with third-stringer Kurk Benkert being the only available option for the Packers, the franchise knew they needed reinforcements.

Dolegala has spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals before when he was signed by the franchise as a free agent back in 2019. A backup at Cincinnati, he is yet to play a snap in the league.

He briefly made appearances for the Patriots’ practice squad before training with the Green Bay Packers during this offseason.
