Patrick Mahomes is arguably the best quarterback of his generation. He is getting ready to take a shot at the Vince Lombardi Trophy on Sunday. And just before the game, he got a sweet message from popstar Rihanna.

Reporter Brandon Marshall told Mahomes on Friday by saying that Rihanna considers the Chiefs QB as the greatest of all time. Naturally Mahomes was happy to hear that. His expressions had everything, from a blush to happiness. There was only one problem with that though. She had never said those words.

Marshall met Rihanna a day later and told her everything about the prank. What she said next will bring a smile back on the face of Mahomes.

“That is so mean. He is mean. Okay. I am so sorry you went through that. I still think you’re great,” Rihanna said, directly addressing the NFL MVP.

Marshall said that there are still good people on the earth. Rihanna agreed but called Marshall a hater.

“He is a hater though,” the popstar said.

Rihanna will perform in the Super Bowl LVII halftime show at the State Farm Stadium on Sunday. Maybe that will be enough motivation for Mahomes to win the second Super Bowl title of his career.
