“He Is Creating a Foundation”: NFL Veteran Defends Hall of Famer Deion Sanders After His Colorado Coaching Gig Gets off to Worst Possible Start

Deion Sanders has been drawing a lot of ire from football fans all over the country. After being appointed head coach for the University of Colorado, he addressed the players. In an attempt to motivate his future players, the coach departed a cryptic message that got a lot of hate on social media platforms.

While his intention may not have been as such, the message came off as very demotivating. People reacted to the intricacies of his speech and had visceral reactions to specific words from his speech. However, a well-known NFL veteran has recently tweeted in defense for Sanders.

Support for Deion Sanders

NFL veteran and one of the top hundred players of the league, Budda Baker, tweeted his support for the Hall of Famer. He spoke about the positive impact Sanders will bring to the football program at Colorado. There might be a benefit for the players as well as their game if they took Sanders’ message in a positive sense.

Baker mentioned that the program, Sanders is planning on implementing, will set the tone for a better culture for the team. “He is creating a foundation. A standard of what HE wants that program to be.” tweeted Baker talking about Sanders’ goals for the program. Baker also talked about teaching accountability to the athletes in the program.

Furthermore, he exclaimed that Sanders is coming about to teach them the consequences of actions and wants to take their football season to a new level.  Sanders’ speech, while harsh, did seem to convey his intentions for the team.

The HOFer spoke about his objectives for the team. It did not seem like there was any malice in his words. Sanders’s speech was one that gave a hard reality check to the students in the program. He said, “I’m coming to restore to replace the re-energize some of y’all that are salvageable”. He talked about the consequences of complacency in a competitive program.

All in all, coach Sanders was very straight and honest with his students. Unfortunately, it is possible that it could’ve been perceived as demotivating. However, Budda Baker was standing in his support. However, Sanders’s true intentions will only be revealed as the season starts and he begins coaching the team.
