The Chicago Bears may not be having the best season. However, they have surely struck gold and finally found a franchise quarterback in Justin Fields. The young quarterback is having a record setting season and many experts think he is the best at what he does.
Veteran Chris Simms of the NFL on NBC crew has put Justin Fields ahead of Lamar Jackson as the best running quarterback in the league right now. Simms is well aware of the hate he might receive for his bold statements. However, Field’s quarterbacking is proving the analyst right.

Justin Fields is having a historic season
The Chicago Bears lost to the Miami Dolphins 35-32 last Sunday. It was a back-and-forth thriller between Tua Tagovailoa and the 23-year-old Fields. Tua did come out on top in the end, but it was a magical game for the Bears quarterback. Justin Fields ran for 178 yards, including a running TD, and set the NFL record for rushing yards by a quarterback in the regular season during the Super Bowl era.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB and current sports analyst with NBC, Chris Simms thinks this historic performance has taken Fields to the top of the running quarterbacks’ list in the NFL. Yes, even ahead of Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. Baltimore is at the top of the AFC North and is having a much better season than the 3-6 Bears. However, Simms believes Justin Fields is more explosive and powerful due to his bigger size. “He’s the best running quarterback in football now as a runner. I’m gonna put him in front of Lamar right now. I think he’s a little faster than Lamar is right now,” Simms said.

Lamar Jackson leads Justin Fields in QBR ratings and his 16 touchdowns are ahead of Field’s 10. However, Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and quarterback coach Andrew Janoco have constructed an offense that perfectly suits their quarterback from Ohio State. The designed runs for Justin Fields have gone up from only 19 in the first six games to 127 in the last three games of this season.

Justin Fields has 6 passing and 3 rushing touchdowns in his last 3 games. At this rate, the Bears are on their way to being a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the coming years.
