When the star with the most consecutive 1000 yards receiving seasons (9) was asked who he regarded as the best in business. Speaking with ESPN, the NFL veteran quickly responded “I know where I’m at, my opinion matters more than anybody else because I watch all of these guys, and there are a lot of f—ing great players. But I’ll take myself over anybody. If people were in my situation, there are only 5-10 guys in history who have done what I’ve done. It’s been a battle, but I enjoy it.”
Evans strongly believes that he’s been around for a while now in the NFL. He considers himself at par with other legends who’ve played at the wide receiver position. Post Tom Brady’s “retiring for good” remark, the wide receiver has rubbished any rebuilding phase for the side. As per him, the team’s entire focus is on winning the division and setting up achievable milestones.

Madden Rating Snubs Evans off its list

The strong desire to be the best comes after a recent snub. During July 2023 Madden Rating, the Buccaneers star didn’t find any place in the top ten ratings. The list that saw Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, and Davante Adams leading the charts, ignored Mike Evans. Though the competition was cut-throat and despite making a 90 overall rating, the list went ahead with other stars.
The burly star who has the most receiving yards falls short of touchdowns. As the list takes a lot of stats into consideration, Bucs’ wide receiver would be eyeing certain targets. Ahead of the 2023/24 season, Evans would be looking to gather more touchdowns than his previous best of 14.
