“I’m Drinking Too Much”: Bruce Arians Admits He Hasn’t Stopped Celebrating Tom Brady’s Return

Tom Brady retiring for six weeks was really difficult for many. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were in big trouble. They had no reliable quarterback to fall back on. The fans thought that the franchise was done for. They were on the brink of losing some pretty huge names. But like a light at the end of the tunnel, the GOAT saved them. 

In the middle of March, Brady announced his return to active competition. It took the Buccaneers from falling down a rabbit hole to being Super Bowl contenders. The head coach Bruce Arians have not stopped celebrating the return of his favorite football player.

What does the return of Tom Brady mean to the Buccaneers?

Tom Brady is arguably the most decorated football player in the history of the NFL. He is a 15 time Pro Bowl and the only one to win seven Super Bowls. The GOAT has uncountable records with his name on it, and he has only gotten better with time. Obviously, his retirement was a big loss for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“The way he played last year, it might have been his best year ever,” the HC Bruce Arians said. “There’s no drop off — Week 16, playoffs, he was on fire. And there won’t be any drop off this year. Coming after the season I said, ‘Tom, how do you feel?’ He said, “This is the best physically I’ve felt in years after a season.’ So I say, ‘Okay, we’ll keep that light on for sure, brother.'”

Brady announcing his unretirement was music to the ears of the fans and the Bucs. Many people believed that the quarterback was not really done. And they were right. On March 12, Brady was back on the active roster. Now the Buccaneers are eyeing another Super Bowl trophy with the GOAT leading the offense. 

Bruce Arians have not stopped celebrating

Nobody seems to be happier than Bruce Arians. He and Tom Brady share a special relationship. Both of them always stay in touch and share a lot of things off the field.

“The smile really hasn’t come off my face,” said Arians, “I’m drinking too much, but other than that it’s been a constant celebration. It was huge for us to have Tom back.”
