“I’m Just Trying to Support”: Dak Prescott Reacts to Cowboys Winning Without Him

NFC East leaders Dallas Cowboys maintained their lead atop after a thrilling victory over Minnesota Vikings last night. The biggest news heading into the match was the absence of Dak Prescott. Prescott had suffered a calf injury in game week 6 and thus was ruled against the Vikings. The Cowboys’ replacement for Prescott was Cooper Rush, who had played only 6 NFL games in his career so far.
Few were optimistic about Cooper performing for the Cowboys, but to everyone’s surprise, Rush delivered a standout performance. Dak Prescott post-match also heaped praise on the 27-year-old quarterback and revealed the role he played in the win over the Vikings.

Dak Prescott reacts to sitting out against the Vikings; also reveals how he helped Cooper Rush
Speaking to SIDD News post-match, Dak shared his feelings about sitting out against the Vikings. The talented quarterback also revealed that despite not being sure of game time, he still trained in his usual way. When questioned about the reason behind it, he argued that even if it doesn’t play, his preparation will certainly help Cooper Rush. And boy, it did!
“That’s what this team is about. I’m just trying to support everybody and every part of this team from whatever avenue there is,” Prescott said. “For me, it was about focusing on being the starter and doing what I normally do; going through that same routine all week long. And then if I didn’t get the call then obviously I was going to flip it easily, knowing that everything that I prepared was to be able to give it to Coop and help him out,” revealed the Dallas quarterback.

Prescott later spoke about the star of the night, Cooper Rush. He described Rush as mild-tempered and disciplined. According to him, it was his characteristics and personality that helped the Cowboys make some great plays and win the game in the last quarter.
“That’s Coop. He’s very mild-tempered and always that way, never too high or too low. It showed tonight. It allowed him to stay in there, stick to it, stick through some bad plays and come out and make some great plays to win the game that we needed in the 4th quarter,” said the Cowboys quarterback.
