The Jacksonville Jaguars will end their 2020 campaign as the worst team in the league. Not a feat to be proud of. For Jaguars fans, though, there are reasons to remain optimistic.
None more than them landing the first overall 2021 draft pick. A highly sought after draft pick considering how the #1 prospect is Clemson Tigers’ quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
In Lawrence, the Jaguars have a potential franchise QB. And if all goes to plan, Lawrence could be the franchise-altering player to take the Jaguars to the promised land of Super Bowl success.

With a potential dynasty in the offing, changes to the coaching staff would only make sense following a dismal 2020 season.
End of the road for Doug Marrone with the Jacksonville Jaguars?
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to move on from Head Coach Doug Marrone at the end of the season.
Marrone took over as Head Coach back in 2017 and in his first full season and led the Jaguars to the AFC Championship Game where they were eventually bested by the New England Patriots 24-20.

While the Jaguars are yet to make anything official, Rapoport expects the Head Coach to be relieved of his duties once the regular season is done and dusted.
Like a star that shone too bright, Marrone’s peak came in his first season as Head Coach with the Jaguars. And sadly for him, it’s been downhill ever since. 14 losses on the trot this season have just been too much for the team management to take.
And now, they seem to be on the lookout for a Head Coach who can tap the true potential of Trevor Lawrence.
Urban Meyer, the potential frontrunner
Rapoport further stated that Urban Meyer is leading the race to replace Marrone as Head Coach at Jacksonville. The former Buckeyes boss is a legend in the college football circuit.

Now retired, Meyer boasts of an astounding win-loss record of 187-32. He has 3 national championships and 3 Big Ten conference trophies to his name as well.
Known to be a strict disciplinarian, Meyers’ teams thrive on following his system. His role in molding the careers of several NFL superstars in the past is definitely one of the biggest reasons as to why the Jaguars are willing to gamble on him.

Whether Meyer can step up to the challenge will need to be seen. But the prospect of seeing Meyer and Lawrence work their magic together in the NFL is a mouth-watering one for the fans.
