NFL franchise Atlanta Falcons are finding it hard to keep their feet in two boats as they look to move on from quarterback Matt Ryan while pursuing Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson. The franchise and their veteran QB have been honest with each other as they look to start anew with Watson as their leader for the future. It seems that time is running out for Ryan to keep hold of his spot as the Falcons look to shift themselves into the Watson boat.

The news broke following ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeting about the tense yet open situation between Ryan and the organization. The team is considering options to restructure Ryan’s deal, which will further potentially sour the situation.

While it is unlikely that Ryan would cause drama on finding himself in this situation, the Falcons also haven’t shown any official paperwork to the NFL.

But Atlanta finds itself in a 4 horse race for the signature of Watson, who hasn’t played in over a year in the league. Watson will be making a comeback following his recent dismissal from certain controversies that took place off the field The NFL continues to investigate the matter, and he will be subject to potential discipline under their personal-conduct policy.

Is Matt Ryan no longer in Falcons’ plans for 2022?

The team can be a potential destination for Watson with teams like the Saints, Panthers, and Browns in the race. The current Falcons QB Ryan has been putting up dwindling numbers in recent seasons. It seems to have spurred the team into action. Apart from that side of the game, the Falcons have also been a team that is full of big-money contracts and includes Ryan as well.
