Larry Fitzgerald Congratulates Cooper Kupp on Record-Breaking Season: “It’s a Joy to Watch You Out There”

Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl LVI, taking down the Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. Consequently, Cooper Kupp was named the Super Bowl MVP. With this victory, Kupp ended up with the most successful single-season by a wide receiver in NFL history. Thus, NFL Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald met Kupp and congratulated him on his impressive accomplishments this season.

Kupp completed an amazing triple crown season with a Super Bowl victory and Super Bowl MVP honors. Therefore, football fans declared Kupp’s historical run surpassed Larry Fitzgerald’s run in the 2008 NFL playoffs with the Arizona Cardinals. In fact, Fitzgerald himself admitted that Kupp’s performance was better than his 2008 campaign. According to Kent Somers, Fitzgerald said, “I got memories. He’s got hardware.”

After the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI victory, Fitzgerald ran into Kupp the next day and later tweeted an appreciation post for him. Fitzgerald, in his tweet, expressed his delight at experiencing a great and historic season from the Rams wide receiver. Additionally, he referred to Kupp as a “legend” in his post. The Hall of Famer had one of the best careers of all time, but he couldn’t add a Super Bowl victory to his resume. Therefore, when Kupp conquered this hill in a single season, Fitzgerald was more than ready to honor him.

A historic single-season NFL run from Cooper Kupp

Cooper Kupp has put together the best single-season record by a wide receiver in NFL history. His 2021 regular season statistics include 145 receptions for 1947 yards and 16 touchdowns. Additionally, he caught 33 passes on 42 targets for 478 yards and six touchdowns in the four playoff games. In the process, he added one of the greatest playoff performances in the history of the league to his resume.

Furthermore, Kupp won the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year award and was a contender for the MVP award. Unfortunately, he couldn’t win the MVP award. Nevertheless, he ended up winning the Super Bowl title and was named the Super Bowl MVP. Therefore, crossing off a historic feat by a receiver in the NFL.
