Deion Sanders ‘called’ from God to coach at an HBCU. However, it was the former NFL star and College Hall-of-Famer’s iron-clas unique contract that took him to Colorado instead. And boy, are people excited! The demand for front-row seats to witness the incredible turnaround of the Colorado Buffaloes under the leadership of “Coach Prime” is through the roof. It is evidenced by the soaring ticket sales going above 10,000.
Now, Sanders and his seasoned coaching team have a massive challenge. They aim to revive a dismal 1-11 record-holding team. And after coming back stronger than before from his life-threatening surgery, it feels like Coach Prime is all set to put his team’s best foot forward.

‘Old-School’ outlook for a brand new ‘furniture-like’ team
On May 24, 2023, the Buffaloes broke past their record for single-game ticket sales with a whopping 11,273 tickets sold. And that’s not all – the school has sold out of its season-ticket allotment for the first time since 1996. All thanks to onboarding Coach ‘Prime Time’ Deion Sanders. Though, with a big name came big responsibility, as he had cut 20 players for his expected ‘unprecedented turnover with his program.’ In an interview with The Athletic, he said, “There’s no way that I can put new furniture in this beautiful home if we don’t clean out the old furniture,” as he added quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Cornerback Travis Hunter on the new coaster.

Now, with just 28 days to their first match, there’s a lot of “old school” football advice he is offering his team. In a recent IG post, Coach Prime is seen talking to the ‘new-age’ buffaloes as he supports himself on a clutch saying, “Listen to me, do not allow 30 seconds to 5 minutes of pleasure to cause you have a regret of a lifetime. Don’t make that mistake. Cause you have a CU on your chest,” as he revealed his four keys to success. He said, “Be respectful…Be Kind, Be Considerate, and work out. I’m really, really proud of y’all.” After observing his teaching style, and attention to detail, and listening to him speak, it becomes clear that he embodies the traditional values of football.

In the video, he talked extensively about the importance of discipline. He focuses on doing things correctly, the value of hard work and aiming for consistency. His caption reflects it, “A message to @cubuffsfootball before we broke for our break before camp! I love these young men so much, and I don’t want them to make the mistakes I’ve seen made over the years that I’ve been married to this game. “We Coming” #CoachPrime” as he subtly jabbed his prowess with ‘We Coming.’ Though, will we see the turnaround all fans and analysts are expecting?
Can Coach Prime lead the Buffaloes to a major turnaround?
After the legendary Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders joined Colorado Buffaloes as the first-year head coach, they have undergone a significant roster turnover. It’s been an exciting time for the team. They are gearing up for the upcoming season in August under the leadership of their new coach. After all, he coached JSU through a historic ’22 victory and got his Amazon Prime Video series, “Coach Prime”. Now, fans and analysts alike believe he is all set to repeat history again.

Fox National Joel Klatt (a former CU quarterback) believes it’s likely as he “fully expect in Year 2 under Deion Sanders at Colorado that they are competing as a top 2 or 3 program in the (Pac-12) conference, which means they are competing for the conference crown, which means they are competing for a chance to go to the College Football Playoff. I think it can go that quick.” And he has solid reasons to support his prediction. The first is Prime’s son, Shedeur Sanders, who transferred from JSU to the team, giving the team a strong quarterback. Also, by Year 2, Klatt thinks the team will have 60-65 new, qualified names on the roster. It will support the team on its exponential rise. Though, analysts predict a 5-7 finish this season if Caoch Prime overcome their ‘biggest concern,’ i.e., to maintain good health and avoid depending heavily on their backup players during crucial moments. And it looks like with his recent IG video, he has considered it.
