Former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning is known for his humor, and he has proved the same from time to time. From taking a dig at Tom Brady during his Hall of Fame acceptance speech or doing a campaign where he teaches kids how to play football. He has made sure we have a good laugh always.

In 2017, Peyton Manning had a chance to host the ESPY awards. While the audience applauded and laughed during his monologue, one could see a personality sitting with a grumpy face. He was no other than the famous basketball legend Kevin Durant.

During the award function, Manning praised the efforts of the United States women’s gymnastic teams during the 2016 Summer Olympics. But, soon, he got his attention towards the two-time NBA champion.

Two-time Super Bowl champ said at the awards function, “Our gymnastics team was so dominant that Kevin Durant told me he wants to play for them next year. And I gotta tell you. I don’t think you’d start for that team, Kevin.” The audience had a good laugh, but Durant surely wasn’t impressed by his joke.

Former NFL legend Peyton Manning then moved on to Kevin Durant’s former teammate Russell Westbrook

Durant sat with a straight face while his mother on his side was busy laughing at Manning’s joke. Manning wasn’t finished yet, and then asked Durant’s former teammate, “Russell Westbrook, what do you think?” Westbrook didn’t have much to say. He thought it would be best not to give any comments.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were teammates for eight seasons with Oklahoma City Thunder. But, once Durant decided to join the Warriors, their friendship turned into one of the biggest rivalries in the NBA.
