After Hill was allegedly involved in an altercation that ended with him hitting a mariner, the fears of the Dolphins front office have come to fruition. Over the years, the idle time in the middle of the offseason, right after the NFL Draft and prior to Training Camp, has been of major concern to several front offices. “This is that time of year between the off-season programs and the starter training camps where your organization feels like they got to babysit. They gotta babysit millionaires, they gotta babysit adults, they got to babysit men who have kids of their own,” Willey said on his show.
Wiley emphasized how organizations often feel the need to babysit their players, especially with their sudden exposure to publicity and wealth. With the added free time, coaches and GMs have always been worried about the off-court lives of their players. As Tyreek Hill’s case continues to rile up the internet, this, unfortunately, adds another misdemeanor to the worrying past that the WR has had.

Hill’s troublesome history repeating itself
The news of Tyreek Hill’s alleged assault is certainly troubling, but it becomes just another comparatively mild misdemeanor to his pre-existing criminal record. As Wiley also pointed out on his show, Hill has had his fair share of run-ins with the law. In 2019, the WR was accused of child abuse and neglect by his ex-fianceé Crystal Espinal. But that’s not all.
While the previous case was eventually dismissed with both Hill and Espinal losing custody of their son, Hill’s misdemeanors earlier in life would lead to the WR getting booted from his college team, Oklahoma State. At the age of 20, Hill would be arrested and eventually plead guilty to charges of domestic abuse against Espinal. With the latest charges being pressed against Hill, it is a worrisome situation for the WR, who many hoped had left his dark past behind.
