“Never Had the Opportunity”: Jalen Hurts Goes off on His Official Homecoming as He Leads The Eagles Look To Improve to 8-0

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles have surpassed the NFL world’s expectations this season. The team has had spectacular performances and is undefeated thus far.

At 7-0, the Eagles have delighted their fans with incredible performances. Jalen Hurts in particular has outshone the rest. The Houston native will next face his home team.

Jalen Hurts goes up against the Texans

The Eagles are set to take on the Texans in their next bout. The Texans are currently at a disappointing 1-5. CBS News reported what the Eagles had to say about their next game. Hurts, who was born 25 miles from the Texans’ home stadium, reminisced about his childhood. He said, “I never had the opportunity to go play in Reliant as a kid, now known as NRG.”

The Eagles quarterback also added that he spent a lot of time at the Texans facility because his godfather was on the staff at that time. “…I have a lot of memories at that place, so it’ll be exciting,” he added.

Texans coach Lovie Smith spoke about Hurts’ excitement to play in Houston. He said, “That is always special. Every player that you talk to would say that. We’re not into homecoming, so we don’t want him to have a great homecoming coming back.”

The Eagles will hope to take another victory and boost their run to 8-0. That will be a first in franchise history.

Lovie Smith also spoke about the difficulty in containing Jalen Hurts and all the things he brings to the table. Houston’s defense has been lagging back all season. The Texans will hope to turn their fate around with a win against the Eagles. Houston has a 0-5 record against the Eagles. A victory could never taste sweeter.

But Jalen Hurts will be prepared. Speaking to Peyton and Eli Manning of the ManningCast, Hurts opened up about his thirst for knowledge about the game.

He also mentioned that he watched and learned from seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. The Eagles’ success can be largely credited to Hurts’ improvement. His efficiency on the field is what will lead the Eagles to a potential 8-0.
