Trade talks surrounding Deshaun Watson first emerged when the Houston Texans apparently did not consult the QB before hiring a new Head Coach and GM.
The franchise that suffered a dramatic fall from grace last season saw them firing their former Head Coach and GM Bill O’Brien just 5 games into the 2020 season.
The franchise lost all of their 5 games under O’Brien and finished the season with a 4-12 record. But the team did have one silver lining through the campaign.

Despite the team failing to make a positive impression, QB Deshaun Watson definitely grabbed some eyeballs. Raking up over 4,800 passing yards and a career-high of 33 touchdowns; the QB was the team’s shining light in what was a disastrous campaign.
But several off-field incidents have now put Watson’s future in jeopardy. While the NFL is yet to take any action against the QB facing a run-in with the law, it’s unlikely that Deshaun Watson will take to the field in 2021.
Deshaun Watson might land up in Philly
Appearing on the Rich Eisen Show, NFL insider Peter King said he feels the Eagles are a franchise that are likely to make a move for Watson if he is in the clear to play in 2022.

“I think it’s probably more likely than not that they’ll (Eagles) be looking for a quarterback at some point this year or next. So that’s why I put them there. They’ve got all the resources to do so,” said King.
But all that King believes depends on how well the young QB Jalen Hurts performs in 2021.
“Jalen Hurts has the job in his hands. If he plays great, then I doubt the Eagles are gonna go get a quarterback.”

King also highlighted how the franchise could benefit from such a scenario in the years to come.
“They will then have the true luxury of having a quarterback on his rookie deal for the next two years… They can have a quarterback on a rookie deal with all of these high picks. And probably two years from now, the money to spend in free agency on missing pieces,” he added.
