Packers WR Randall Cobb on Remarkable Return From Injury: ‘There Are People Going Through Real-Life Things, Single Mothers Raising Kids. What I Did Is Not a Big Deal’

The 31-year-old receiver sustained a core injury during his Week 12 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. And it looked as if he was wrapped up for the season. But the wideout knows how to pull off a phenomenal return.

The receiver was re-signed by the franchise on special demands of the Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Cobb since has started each game for the team up until his injury. He finished his season totaling 28 receptions for 375 yards scoring five touchdowns with an average of 13.4 yards per reception.

His similar late returns have proved beneficial for the Packers in the past. During his 2013 season finale, he recorded two touchdowns along with pulling off a dramatic end to the game to top the NFC North. He also made a late playoff return in 2016 when he totaled for three touchdowns and 116 receiving yards against the Giants.

“Unfortunately, I’ve dealt with injuries throughout my career, but every time I come back from one something great happens,” Cobb said Thursday. “So hopefully we keep that streak going.”

Furthermore, his presence is going to be vital for Rodgers. Since the 31-year-old has been a trusted target for the quarterback on multiple occasions. “He trusts me, he knows who I am, he knows what I’m capable of and he believes in me. And that’s all I need,” Cobb said of Rodgers. “I try to prove him right every chance I get.”
