Patrick Mahomes evolved as the NFL’s biggest threat. The QB1 came and unleashed havoc. Many consider him to be this generation’s biggest draw, and he receives a lot of praise in the NFL. Mahomes has had a successful season thus far but has yet to clinch a playoff spot. Several people hail QB1 as the upcoming best, but a Chargers RB found a distinct parallel between him and a supervillain.

During Yahoo Fantasy Football Forecast’s Ekeler’s Edge, RB Austin Ekeler sat with analyst Matt Harmon to talk about the Chiefs-Chargers game. He expressed his love for the AFC West rivalry and talked about Patrick Mahomes. He compared The Gunslinger to Thanos, the Mad Titan, and Marvel’s most beloved supervillain.

Austin Ekeler mentioned, “Like, he’s got — he’s like Thanos, right? In the end of frickin’ ‘Infinity Wars,’ where I am inevitable, he snaps his finger, like, that — he is that dude. I had to laugh, too, when the broadcast — obviously, you didn’t see this, but the broadcast puts up like, oh, the Chiefs have a 24% win probability with the under two minutes. Like, OK, well, I don’t know what the model says, but you can go ahead and throw the model in the trash when 15 comes out there. It’s just gotta be exhausting knowing that that guy is gonna go out and do his thing.”

Ekeler’s comparisons could be accurate. Patrick Mahomes has become one of the most dreadful quarterbacks and has flourished since his arrival. The Chiefs are indeed in safe hands.
