Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was recently seen back on the football field for the first time following his wedding. Mahomes married his high school sweetheart, Brittany Matthews at Maui, Hawaii. The short clip on his social media saw fans getting a glimpse of his training with his Chiefs teammates.

The 2019 Super Bowl-winning QB, in the video, was putting the work in the gym with his trainer. Mahomes was training last week with some of his teammates.

He hosted a number of his teammates for throwing sessions down in Texas. One of these included his new WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, a recent addition to their roster.

The new Chiefs wideout was accompanied by his trainer Chris Flores. They met with Mahomes and his trainer Bobby Stroupe too. They worked out together at Mahomes’ hometown as part of offseason work before the 2022 NFL season. It will be a different situation for the former league MVP. He will be entering the upcoming season without his star WR Tyreek Hill for the first time in his career.

How will Patrick Mahomes adjust to the changes?

The Chiefs QB is going to miss the dynamic tandem he had with Hill. But his new weapons might compensate for that. By staying in touch with the Chiefs’ front office and his coaching staff, the loss of Hill became bearable for the star QB. The development of the situation surprised Mahomes, how a contract extension talk evolved into a demand for a trade away.

But Mahomes expressed his pleasure about Hill getting his share of salary cap space in Miami while also moving closer to his home. The trust that Mahomes has in his GM Brett Veach and coach Andy Reid showed up as they brought in immediate reinforcements.

It was a completely new and exciting revamp of his receiver room almost a year on from the revamp of his offensive line in 2021.

The 26-year-old will be playing in a challenging AFC West Division with teams like the Chargers, Broncos, and Raiders. The latter two made several big-money moves this offseason. The Chiefs will have to pass over a big hurdle in 2022 as they attempt a comeback to the Super Bowl.
