Peyton Manning has always given back to the fans that have stood behind him throughout his career. Adding to his list of good deeds, Manning has once again blessed the lives of his fans after sharing a golden opportunity to a special supporter of the QB. 

The iconic Hall of Fame QB, has become a beacon of hope for a 29-year-old man named Johnny Agar, who has battled against cerebral palsy his entire life. Manning’s unexpected intervention has paved the way for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Johnny and his father, Jeff Agar, as they are invited to compete in the renowned IRONMAN World Championship.

The world was first introduced to the Agar’s last November, when ‘CBS Mornings’ lead correspondent David Begnaud broke the story of the remarkable athletic prowess and achievements of the father-son duo of Johnny and his father, Jeff Agar. Begnaud once again reunited with the two over the last week to provide them with a special invitation.

With help from Peyton Manning, one of Johnny’s favorite athletes alongside the likes of Michel Phelps, Begnaud and Manning revealed that the Agar’s had earned themselves an official invite to the 2024 IRONMAN Championship. Manning appeared in a video message, specially crafted for the Agar family, to extend to them their official invite.

The incredible journey of Johnny and Jeff Agar

Johnny Agar’s journey to the IRONMAN World Championship has been nothing short of extraordinary. Born with cerebral palsy, a challenging muscle disorder that affects his ability to walk and talk, Johnny has defied the odds with the unwavering support of his father, Jeff. Together, they embarked on a unique athletic journey, participating in triathlons that encompass swimming, biking, and running.

The duo finally earned their stripes after they completed an IRONMAN race in under 17 hours, on their sixth attempt. Their victory propelled their initial breakthrough interview with Begnaud, which earned the duo global acclaim. With just over 16 months left until their next appearance on the global stage at the IRONMAN championship, we hope to see the indomitable spirit of Johnny and Jeff in action, once again.
