The Russell Wilson blockbuster trade involved a package of Broncos athletes moving to Seattle Seahawks. Quarterback Drew Lock is one such athlete on the list who was also in the mix. In recent times, Drew Lock, the former Broncos quarterback, makes his introductory public comments after shifting to Seattle last week as part of the Russell Wilson swap.

The Denver Broncos have been in quarterback purgatory for the past six seasons, attempting to find a competent player to succeed Peyton Manning after his departure. So when the deal for Russell Wilson completes, that run may come to a close.

The Seattle Seahawks, on the other hand, appear to be in desperate need of a quarterback. But will they target Drew Lock or go with a veteran free agency quarterback?

Drew Lock the QB1 for Seattle Seahawks?

The Seahawks-bound quarterback makes a public statement after being officially traded. He expresses in a post over Twitter, “Officially a Seahawk and officially pumped!! Thank you for welcoming me to your great city and a first-class organization. You have set the standard of winning. I understand where that bar is set. Can’t with to play in the loudest stadium in front of the best fans in the NFL!!”

Quarterback Lock also expressed his admiration for the past and voiced his excitement for the chance to write more while donning the #2. I’m glad to represent himself as a Seahawk.

Seattle has been debating either to go for a veteran QB or trust coach Carroll’s ability to plan a quality athlete from the bottom up. However, it looks like the Seahawks front has opted the other way. Drew Lock is just 25 years old, and there’s still hope for someone like him to grow it into a reliable starter and might be a better option.

During his undergraduate career at Missouri, Lock displayed a diverse skill set, and his powerful arm was on display frequently in Denver. The 6’4″, 228-pound quarterback has a suitable length for the sport and showed some movement in 2020. In 2021, Lock featured in six games for the Broncos, starting three of them. He completed 67 of his 111 throws for 787 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and 60.4 percent pass completions.
