On February 12, 2023, apart from blockbuster football, R&B sensation Rihanna is set to headline the Super Bowl halftime show. TMZ primarily updated that NFL and Roc Nation were in talks and Rihanna’s performance was a done deal.

Within minutes of the disclosure, the media outlet finally declared the news true. Instantly, she posted a picture of a hand holding an NFL football on social media pages. With Rihanna as the headliner, Jay-Z extended his appreciation to the artist.

“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn. A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment.” he wrote.

Earlier, Rihanna had the opportunity to perform on the grand occasion in 2018. However, she rejected the proposal in solidarity with quarterback-turned-civil rights activist Colin Kaepernick. After being sidelined because of his kneeling protests in 2016, the veteran went unsigned, which nearly faded his NFL aspirations and future in the league.
