Los Angeles Chargers’, Justin Herbert, started in his third-straight game on Sunday. A rib-injury to starting quarterback, Tyrod Taylor, has seen the rookie make his NFL debut sooner than expected. However, the youngster has shown flashes of brilliance in the limited game time he’s been given in 2020.
Herbert led the Chargers to a 24-14 lead against Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers at half-time on Sunday. Unfortunately, he could not prevent a loss as the Bucs fought back to win the game by a 38-31 scoreline.
Herbert threw for 290 yards with three passing TDs and one interception as the Chargers lost their third game of the season. Here’s what opposition coach Bruce Arians said about Herbert in the post-game interview.

Rookie quarterback Justin Herbert makes an impression on Bruce Arians
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians was left impressed by the performance of rookie quarterback Justin Herbert in Sunday’s win at the Raymond James Stadium. He praised the youngster and compared him to Super Bowl LIV MVP, Patrick Mahomes.
“I told Anthony after the game, ‘You’ve got a great one.’ That retreating play – that looked like Mahomes where we had an all-out blitz and he just kept retreating and threw a dime down the field. For rookies to make plays like that, you know they’re special,” Arians told NFL Network reporter James Palmer.
