Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Rob Gronkowski declared his retirement for the second time in his career. Gronkowski won’t be playing his third year with the Buccaneers as he announced his retirement on his social media. With the news of his retirement, NFL analysts are picking on the debate about what would become of Tom Brady and the Buccaneers without their star TE Gronkowski.

While many critics point out that Brady won’t be able to win the Super Bowl in the upcoming season. The reason is his trustworthy tight end Rob Gronkowski won’t be playing by his side. But, the NFL legend Shannon Sharpe does not think the same. On the show ‘UNDISPUTED,’ Sharpe disagreed with the fact by making some valid reasons.

The 3x Lombardi Trophy winner on the show said, “That man won three Super Bowls before you even know of Rob Gronkowski existed. And now, all of a sudden, he threw for 4000 yards a year that the Gronk retired, and he was in New England, and now, all of a sudden, you don’t think he can win without Gronk. Stop this.”

Tom Brady started his career in 2000 with the New England Patriots, almost 10 years before Rob Gronkowski made it to the team. Until 2010, Brady had already won 3-Super Bowls in 2002, 2004, and 2005. Gronk had retired from the NFL and missed the NFL for the 2019 season.

In 2019, Gronk did not play beside Tom Brady. Even so, he had outstanding numbers. He threw for 4,057 yards with 24 passing touchdowns and eight interceptions. Although, it is a fact that Brady won three more Super Bowls after Gronkowski joined Patriots in 2010.

The Patriots won the next three Super Bowls in 2015, 2017, and 2019. After which, Gronk retired. In 2020, Gronk came out of retirement and joined Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Once again, he stood beside his favorite QB, and they won the Super Bowl in 2021.

Well, it is known that Brady loves to throw the ball to the tight end position, but it is unnecessary that without Gronkowski, Brady won’t survive. For this season, the Buccaneers have four TEs included in their roster- Cameron Brate, Cade Otton, Ko Kieft, and Codey McElroy. Currently, Brate has the most favorable chance to be the No. 1 tight end for the Buccaneers after Gronk’s retirement.
