“There’s A Little Bit of Depression”: Tom Brady Drops Mental Health Update Mere Days After Announcing His Retirement

Tom Brady recently announced his retirement via an emotional Instagram post. He has said that this will be the last time he retires, indicating that he is retiring for good. While fans have had a lot of reactions, ranging from humorous to sad, it seems like this retirement has had an effect on the legendary quarterback as well. While the initial announcement had come from Brady, since then he has said nothing more about his retirement. That changed recently, as he went on his usual Let’s Go with Tom Brady podcast and spoke about his decision and its effects.

He went on to talk about how retirement actually feels for him. Furthermore, he mentioned how it is a different experience from a mental health perspective.

Brady went into the depths of how his mental health has been holding up after leaving football, possibly for the last time. He had a lot to say when it came to just how it was impacting him. Brady first mentioned that retiring had given him some sort of relief. He further mentioned that he feels content with where he is right now.

Talking about the impact of his decision, TB12 said, “I think relief just because there’s a little bit of a depression slash depressurization. I don’t think for, you know, 32 years you’ve been getting ready to prepare for another season and I think the reality of that probably hasn’t even sunk in yet,” via the Let’s Go podcast. Considering everything, it seems like Brady seems to have made peace with the end of his career.

Admittedly, it has been a spectacular career. Brady has gone on to set the standards of a quarterback in the NFL for years to come. He has had a career that is sure to earn him a place in the Hall of Fame.

Brady’s legendary career

He has broken many records with simply how long his career has been. Brady played a total of 23 seasons, with both the Patriots as well as the Buccaneers. Brady has thrown an unbelievable 89,214 yards and a whopping 649 touchdowns. He has 5 Super Bowl MVPs along with 7 Super Bowl wins. Furthermore, he has featured in 14 Pro Bowls. Brady truly has had a career of longevity and success.

It seems like the great career of Brady might have finally come to an end. Brady has had an immense impact on the sport with the way he plays and with the way he approaches his game. He has gone down as most people’s G.O.A.T quarterback. It only remains to be seen who will take up his mantle soon.
