Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has chosen to continue playing football. But he will not be returning to the NFL any time soon. The quarterback will join forces with the Hall of Famer Terrell Owens and throw for the Zappers. Manziel made his season debut in the Zappers’ Saturday fixture.
Being a former Heisman Trophy winner, big things were expected from the quarterback in the NFL. But the trouble off the field made more headlines. Now the athlete wants to return to a more prominent role and play in the Fan Controlled Football League.

Johnny Manziel in the NFL
Johnny Manziel was a first-round draft pick in the 2014 NFL draft. The Cleveland Browns picked the quarterback at the 22nd overall pick. Manziel played in the league for two tumultuous seasons. He was a part of the Browns throughout his entire NFL run. The last time he played an NFL game was in 2015.

Due to some troubles off the field, the Cleveland Browns had to let Manziel go. In early 2016, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Browns will cut ties with the quarterback as soon as the 2016 fiscal year begins for the NFL. Manziel was a talented player with a lot of skill. He would not sit free for long. The QB went to Canada and played in the Canadian Football League. He was a part of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. After a short stint in the CFL, the athlete would return to the states and play for the Alliance of American Football.
