This was due to a complication regarding the salary cap that the Jets were trying to navigate. Although Rodgers was certain to sign with them, the small matter of his contract restructuring still loomed over the Jets.

This was finally concluded and confirmed to have been resolved between Rodgers and the Jets just over a month ago. Meanwhile, recent reports have drummed up speculation for the real reason why the pay cut was necessary.

Kurt Benkurt, former Packers QB, and a friend of A-Rod have dropped hints as to why the pay cut was organized between the Jets and Rodgers. While talking to Kay Adams on her show, Benkurt has seemingly opened the door for fans to wonder if the Jets are going to sign David Bakhtiari. He said, “I’m gonna put a really really hot take in this….there would be a chance that there’s a reunion one day. Maybe this year, maybe next.”

Kay Adams followed up and enquired if the 35 million pay cut was to accommodate Bakhtiari at the Jets. Benkurt playfully responds, “Oh yeah it was to save room for David.” This is just hours after Rodgers’s best friend, Bakhtiari, slated him in the media. He’d go as far as to call him “slow as s***”.

After making room for him, Rodgers is met with a knife in his back

The Green Bay Packers have not held back with their words following A-Rods departure. Just months after departing the side he called his own, players and fans have come forward to take a dig at the 10x Pro Bowl winner. Even his supposed best friend would not refrain from making a comment or two about A-Rod. In a recent interview, David Bakhtiari called out his former QB and his pace.

This comment will feel compounded when the fans factor in the affection Jordan Love has received. Following a semi-successful era with Rodgers in the NFL, Packers fans have quickly forgotten about the man who brought them their sole SB in the last 2 decades. Maybe Bakhtiari has joined the Green Bay alliance as one and the same.

While Rodgers has been making room for his best buddy to possibly join him in New York for the season ahead. Bakhtiari has joined the naysayers of the Green Bay area in taking a jab at the Legendary QB.
