Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill recently shared his frustrations about how his time with the Kansas City Chiefs ended. The former Super Bowl champion believes that the Chiefs were not designing specific plays in completely utilizing his skill set. Hill felt that while the Chiefs were highly valuing his services, he never got fair compensation for his efforts.

During the inaugural episode of his new podcast, ‘It Needed To Be Said’, Hill opens up on the warning signs of the end of his time in Kansas City.

While discussing any particular game convincing him of his situation, he states, “Baltimore Ravens. I had 3 catches for 14 yards, crazy…right? The week before…Week 1, I went for 189, and we won the game. Come on man! I just don’t get it. If teams are gonna give us favorable one-on-one matches against their best corners…I don’t see why teams utilize their receivers.”

The 6-time Pro Bowler was not holding back on his beliefs that he wanted to stay with the team. Hill’s decision seems to ask for trade was more about him recognizing his under-utilization over anything. While he admits he loved the city and its fans, the chance to sign with the Dolphins was more about his value.

Tyreek Hill begins his journey in South Beach

The 3-time All-Pro wideout since has gone on to sign a 4-year, $120 million deal in Miami, becoming the highest-paid WR in the NFL. It happened after the stalling of contract negotiations between Hill and the Chiefs organization, with the former taking his talents to South Beach. It marked the end of the unique dynamic duo of Patrick Mahomes and Hill, who won a Super Bowl title together in 2019.
