Unsatisfactory List of Excuses Pop Up From Patriots’ Insiders for Failing Tom Brady’s Successor Mac Jones

It was a different era altogether for the New England Patriots when Tom Brady was their QB. And he recently retired from professional football earlier this year. The Brady era for the Patriots was the best, as they struggles to face an uphill battle ever since. They have their QB Mac Jones in place, who is believed to be the successor to fill up Tom Brady’s shoes. 

But Patriots insiders feel that the franchise has not given Jones the support and arsenal he will require for the new season. What led to them voicing this opinion?

Will Mac Jones suffer from a lack of offensive talents?

In a recent video of NFL on ESPN, Ryan Clark along with Patriots insiders’ talked about how the franchise used their first three rounds of draft picks on acquiring defensive players. They drafted CB Christian Gonzalez as their 17th pick, DE Keion White as their 46th pick, and LB Marte Mapu, as their 76th pick. So where does the problem lie?

 According to the insiders, the Patriots could have drafted players to help their QB Mac Jones on the field. QBs become good QBs because of the players that they have surrounding them. Insider Ryan Clark believes that having only JuJuSmith-Schuster is not the solution for Jones to make great plays on the field.

Adding to this, Marcus Spears said that the franchise has been failing in making definitive decisions to upscale the quality of plays ever since Brady left. He talked about the Patriots’ free agency last year. So how is it going to be for Mac Jones in the upcoming season?

Mac Jones and his list of priorities 

Ever since Josh McDaniels signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, the team has been facing woes at making offensive plays. It is imperative that they focus on improving the quality of their offense so that their QB can make better plays on the field. The team signed JuJu Smith-Schuster to a three-year $25.5 million contract this offseason as their WR. But is this development enough to ensure Mac Jones is able to make plays as their QB?

As the new season commences, it will be interesting to see how the new draftees and signings of the Patriots play out in the league. Will they have to rethink their O-line? Or is the Jones-Schuster duo the answer to their offensive woes?
