But he had to apologize for standing up for Ye.
After Ye’s disputable comments, VU football coach Dan Jackson’s commented on Facebook over Kanye West’s recent opinions. The coach’s thoughts looked comparatively supportive towards the rap artist. It led to an organization calling out the coach for defending rapper Kanye West’s anti-Semitism remarks that sparked global resentment.

The organization shared screenshots and videos on Twitter, mentioning, “We are extremely concerned to see Vanderbilt University’s Assistant Football Coach – Dan Jackson – defend Kanye West’s antisemitism on a Facebook thread, stating people need to wake up. Wake up to what exactly? Kanye’s ongoing peddling that Jews control the world?!”

Ye has come under scrutiny for a bunch of antisemitic and other remarks. However, after his comments got attention, coach Dan Jackson faced scrutiny for his words, which resulted in him having a negative impact. The organization also criticized Coach Jackson’s opinions.
Because of the incident, the VU coach apologized, stating that he did not intend to offend anyone. He sincerely apologized for his comments on social media, adding his phrasing was lackadaisical. He said it was poor judgment to enter such a conversation without knowing the context.

Athletic Director Candice Lee has condemned all forms of antisemitism and stated the university’s Equal Opportunity and Access desk will investigate the occurrence.
