There was immense hype surrounding LSU protege Joe Burrow who was selected as the 1st overall pick by Cincinnati Bengals during the 2021 NFL 2020. However, the 2020 CFP National Championship winner was hit while throwing a pass against Washington Football Team in Week 11. He subsequently tore his ACL and MCL in his left knee among other damage to his PCL and meniscus and was placed on injured reserve.
In his absence, it was former Oregon Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert who grabbed headlines with a few spirited displays for AFC West franchise, Los Angeles Chargers. Herbert concluded his debut NFL campaign with 4,336 passing yards and 31 passing TDs against 10 interceptions.

He narrowly edged Washington Football Team DE Chase Young and Miami Dolphins starlet Tua Tagovailoa to the NFL Rookie of the Year award. But what lies ahead for this talented group of youngsters who will enter their sophomore year in the big league?

The likes of Justin Herbert (#56), Tristan Wirfs (#89), and Justin Jefferson (#53) all made their debuts on the NFL Top 100 list in 2021. All three starlets enjoyed a strong showing in their rookie seasons with their respective franchises. But the story of the week is that of Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson.

The former Illinois State man debuted on the list at #100. His story is different from the rest since he was an undrafted player at the 2020 NFL Draft. He concluded his debut season with 1,070 rushing yards and 7 rushing TDs. In doing so, Robinson became the 4th undrafted player in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in his rookie season, following Dominic Rhodes, LeGarrette Blount, and Phillip Lindsay.
The second half of the NFL Top 100 list is yet to be officially announced. We expect to see the likes of Chase Young and Antoine Winfield Jr. make it on the list. The future is bright for American football, and we wouldn’t want it any other way!
