Are the Dallas Cowboys an excellent team or not? The team has a rich history of winning five Super Bowl Championships in the 1990s. However, there is a vast difference between the team the Cowboys are now and who they were back in the ’90s. And former player Shannon Sharpe has pointed it out harshly.

Micah Parsons, the linebacker of the Cowboys, has stood up against how the media has been covering his team. Even though they have been performing extremely well this season, some of the news seems to cover the negative aspects of the Cowboys’ game. Why? Shannon Sharpe explains, hitting back at Parsons with a strong comment.

On October 19, 2023, there were discussions on X regarding the media hyping the Cowboys. Now, this stands contrary to Parsons’s complaints against the media because there are many ‘fan journalists’ who are excited about Cowboys performances, and they hype the news. Shannon Sharpe decided to stand against this hype.

Sharpe stated, “Every yr Jerry/Stephen talk about how the current roster reminds them of 90s SB tms. You and other Cowboy fan journalists echo that sentiment. Micah said this was going 2 be a historic defense. Stop that bulljive.” The Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones, and his son, Stephen, have compared the team’s current roster to those of Championship teams and have stated how great it is.

However, in reality, the Cowboys roster is not as good as those teams who won the Super Bowls back in the ’90s. Thus, the ‘non-fan journalists’ have naturally pointed that out, though a little harshly, resulting in the team having to face a lot of criticism. Micah Parsons thus stood against this sort of media coverage.

The Dallas Cowboys linebacker, Micah Parsons, expressed his frustration with the media coverage of his team and expressed a strong point of view. Parsons believes it to be unfair treatment as he said, “I just don’t think it’s fair that we get criticized so much when other teams are losing too.”

QB Dak Prescott was harshly criticized too, and Parsons could not tolerate it. “I’m tired of people trashing my team!” he stated. He has been critical of the lack of media’s fairness and consistency and is quite vocal about it. “I’m just tired of the hate. I’m tired of the hypocrisy. I’m tired of the media bashing us and then praising the Eagles.”

Even though the Cowboys currently are not as great as those championship teams, they are not that bad either. The media requires more fairness, and the team requires further improvement. Harsh criticisms against just one particular team are quite unfair indeed. The Dallas Cowboys are working on reaching heights, and hopefully, they will. What do you think?
