The two-time Olympian has been phenomenal this season, and beyond her gymnastics brilliance, the UCLA standout has lit up Dancing with the Stars – Season 34 with partner Ezra Sosa. From day one, she’s delivered standout performances, though fans argue that she’s been consistently scored low. On the 20th birthday night of Dancing With The Stars, she earned a 37/40, which is good, but not enough for her supporters. Sitting on the brink of elimination, she fought through the odds and has now danced her way into the finale.

At the first semi-final performance, the Olympic gold medalist lit up the stage with a jive to “Raspberry Beret.” Despite facing a tough time with the judges due to the scoring fiasco, the gymnast delivered a phenomenal Prince-inspired routine, making it a true homecoming endeavor.

One of the judges, Derek Hough, described the number as “Prince funky fun,” though he hoped to see crisper kicks and cleaner flicks from the Olympian. That’s not all—Carrie Ann Inaba declared it the strongest performance of the evening, but explained that there were some mistakes.
