Olivia Dunne has some spare time and she is using it to the fullest. Just weeks prior, the LSU Tigers suffered a crushing defeat as their gymnastics NCAA season came to an end. Being the last year’s champion, the Tigers failed to even reach the finals. Surely, this had a somber impact on Dunne. Thus, trying to put her mind to some feel-good moments, Dunne has now decided to show up to cheer her baseball star of a boyfriend, Paul Skenes. With the MLB season in full glory, Dunne wanted to catch a glimpse of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ standout. Unfortunately, her plan did not turn out as expected. Skenes had one of the worst games of his career. 

Building up to the game, Dunne expressed a lot of excitement. Taking to her social media, the LSU heartthrob flaunted her gameday attire. Dunne showed up wearing a sporty black crop top along with a pair of flared denims. She captioned her Instagram story writing, “Gameday.” She was also spotted enjoying the scenic beauty in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With a lot of hype surrounding the Pittsburgh Pirates taking on the Chicago Cubs, the game slowly began to go north for the Pirates. Coming into the game, Paul Skeenes’ Pirates were the favorites to win the game. Sadly enough, while they could not manage to salvage a victory, Skenes, too, ended the game with forgettable figures. 

Paul Skenes conceded 3 home runs on the night. This was the very first time in his career that he did so. Ending up with figures of 3-3, Skenes had one of the toughest innings so far. Capitalizing on the same, the Chicago Cubs defeated the Pirates with a scoreline of 8-3. The fifth inning became the decisive one for the Pirates. A sudden offensive surge saw the Cubs take a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning. However, with his girlfriend watching from the stands, Skenes did start the game on a promising note. 

Till the fourth innings, Skenes managed to keep the Cubs scoreless. While Ian Happ stole a leadoff single, Skenes also made four batters walk early on in the innings. But come the fifth inning, all hell seemed to break loose. Giving 3 home runs, the Rookie of the Year had an early exit from the game. Meanwhile, this might not have been the best outing for Olivia Dunne. But she will surely come back to support her beau in some more games. After all, right after their initial meeting, Dunne found Skenes quite ‘cute.’

Dunne further added, “I could never actually watch him pitch, because he would pitch on Friday nights, and that’s when we would be competing.” Despite the missed opportunities to witness his dominance on the mound, fate had other plans.

Eventually, mutual friends stepped in. “I had friends introduce us, and we started dating,” Olivia shared, marking the beginning of a relationship that would soon blossom both on and offline.
