In the season premiere, the Olympian did a salsa set to Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” and scored 10 out of 20 points for her dance with Ezra Sosa. That score was tied for the second-lowest of the evening, matched by another athlete on the show, Baron Davis. The ex-NBA player also received a 10 out of 20 from the judges for his routine with partner Britt Stewart. Jordan Chiles was on the brink of elimination.
After week one, Chiles said in an interview, “I am excited to show this next dance off. Night one was about proving to myself I could do it and sharing that moment with Ezra. Next week, I want to bring more technique and just enjoy what I’m doing. I’m literally on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ which is a dream, so I want people to see me out there having fun!” And that is precisely what she did.

On Tuesday, the theme was “One-Hit Wonders Night,” as the celebs danced to songs by artists known for one unforgettable hit. Sosa and Chiles vibed on the stage to “Maniac” and got positive remarks and scores from the judges. Carrie Ann Inaba compared her stage presence to the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina Turner. The Olympic champion’s performance pushed her above the elimination zone, and she made a strong comeback by scoring 22 out of 30 points.
She is now 5th on the table, with the audience score yet to be decided. Ahead of her are Alix Earle with Val Chmerkovskiy, who has a combined score of 34, and Lauren Jauregui with Brandon Armstrong, who has a combined score of 34. Likewise, Jordan Chiles with Ezra Sosa had a score of 32. Chiles has undoubtedly saved herself from elimination, and how could Simone Biles not celebrate that? She is one of those gymnasts who know what it takes to compete because she has been there and done it.

Will Jordan Chiles go beyond Simone Biles in DWTS?
That is a tricky question. While Chiles has surely saved herself from elimination, there are tough weeks ahead of her, and she would only have to get better and better to be where Simone was. Biles was part of season 24 (2017) of Dancing with the Stars and was paired with Sasha Farber. With consistently good scores every week, she was counted as one of the show’s finalists. However, things went a little south in week 8. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Biles to avoid dancing “Like a metronome. I’d like to see more authenticity about who you are when you perform,” Inaba added.
Host Tony Bergeron saw that Simone Biles did not have a smile on her face when the judges praised her routines and asked her the reason. She replied, “Smiling doesn’t win you gold medals.” However, according to Biles, she took the judges’ feedback more to heart than she showed.

“Last week was really fun. I loved both of our dances, but the judges’ comments hurt,” the 19-year-old Biles back then shared in a rehearsal video. “It made me feel like I didn’t work hard enough, but I knew I had,” she said. Biles, in tears, told Farber she felt she had tried her hardest, but it still wasn’t enough. Farber hugged her and reassured her that her efforts were sufficient. But then came the semifinals.
In the semifinals, Simone and Sasha performed to “Faith” by Stevie Wonder featuring Ariana Grande and later, a rumba to “Skyscraper” by Demi Lovato, earning two perfect scores. Despite this, she was eliminated because DWTS combines judges’ scores with audience votes, and her total fell short of the top three. Fans were disappointed, and Simone was heartbroken. Jordan Chiles would have to make it to week 9 on DWTS to stand where Simone did. Can she do it? Let us know your thoughts.
