It was a dominant performance from Gregg Popovich’s men, who are back on track in their bid for gold. Yet, the win was overlooked by a hilarious incident, courtesy the Golden State Warriors star.

Throughout the 2020-21 season, Draymond Green was criticized for his shooting, or the lack of it. Fans and analysts wanted the powerhouse to land more baskets for the Warriors. In what was already a frustrating season for Steve Kerr’s side, Green was heavily penalized by the basketball fraternity. And in the USA vs Iran encounter, the 31-year-old did something that raised many eyebrows.

Late in the first quarter, USA was on the hunt again after taking an early lead. Upon being passed the ball in a wonderful area, Green had an open chance to lay it in. Instead, he chose to turn around and make a quick pass to Damian Lillard who was standing outside the D. The move did result in an open three, but left fans baffled. Following the harsh reactions to the incident, Green decided to take matters into his own hands.
Frustrated Green hits back at critics
During the game, the passage of play went relatively unnoticed. However, after a few people realized what had happened, fans erupted. Green had a pretty good night, accumulating 5 points and 4 assists against Iran. Fed up of the criticism, fellow countryman Mikal Bridges stood up for Green, saying “Led to a wide open 3.” And the man facing the wrath himself, needed no second invitation to make his opinion known.

In a tweet, GSW’s center-forward lashed out at his haters. “The product of Bozos who never hooped running hoops pages,” Draymond said. Meanwhile, the superstar has reportedly received the support of his teammates and coach, and remains focused on the bigger picture.
