The fourth edition of ONE Friday Fights was expected to be as enthralling as its previous editions. The ONE Friday Fights 3 main event presented the Lumpini Stadium audiences with an absolute war between Chorfah Tor. Sangtiennoi and Petsukumvit Boi Bangna. The bouts preceding the ONE Friday Fights 4 main event have set up the perfect mood for the main event.

There were a lot of highlight-reel finishes during the entire night. Understandably, fans would have loved to see one more. The main event will be a flyweight Muay Thai war between Duangsompong Jitmuangnon and Batman Or. Atchariya. It could be agreed that both the fighters were pretty evenly matched up in terms of their strengths. This fact took the bout to an all-new level of excitement.

Duangsompong Jitmuangnon had a superb start, but the rest was evenly matched

The contest started off with the traditional Muay Thai dance of the two fighters. Duangsompong started off the bout with a furious leg kick. He also applied steady pressure in the opening rounds of the initial round. But Batman came back with a head kick of his own. Batman attempted another head kick, but it missed. He also looked to land a big hand strike. The first round ended with the fighters getting into one more clinch where Batman mostly dominated Duangsompong.

Batman started round two with a high kick. The fighters got into a clinch after a few exchanges from both. Both land a couple of good hand strikes. Duangsompong’s blows seemed to trouble Batman.

After getting separated by the referee, both fighters landed a couple of strikes each. The second round ended with the fighters getting into a clinch while the bell rang.

The evenly matched war had the fight going into the judge’s scorecards

The third round began with a clash of legs as both fighters attempted a leg kick. Both fighters continued their efforts to get the better of the other with mostly hand strikes. Duangsompong looked a bit exhausted by this time, but also landed a lot of significant strikes. He also landed a lot of strikes from a clinch they got into. The referee broke another clinch as well while the fighters continued to throw hands. Batman caught a kick from Duang and attempted a hand strike, but missed. Just 20 seconds were left on the clock while Duangsompong landed another body kick. The referee separated them from a clinch as the bell signaled the end of the bout.

The hard-to-judge fight went to the judges’ cards, who decided to award the bout to Duangsompong Jitmuangnon via a split decision. In his post-fight interview, ‘The Thai’ was asked, “Did you believe you did enough[to win the fight]?”

Duangsompng replied through his interpreter, “I was confident because I didn’t back up and I used my weapons”. He also answered, “Nothing really surprise me because I’ve been preparing a lot on my punch and my elbow.”

Duangsompong was also questioned about when and whom he was planning to fight next. He replied, “Yes, I’m always ready and I can fight anybody who they put in my way”. Lastly, he dedicated this win to his mother, stating, “I want to dedicate this win to my mom.”

A lot of ONE Championship viewers will agree that the ONE Friday Fights 4 main event lived up to their expectations.
