Valspar Championship Leader Keegan Bradley Credits Wife and Family as His Lucky Charm

Four-time PGA Tour winner Keegan Bradley has got off to a hot start at the 2021 Valspar Championship. The 34-year-old cruised atop the Round 1 leaderboard with a 7-under 64 and later credited his wife and family for providing unconditional love and support from the sidelines.
Bradley raced to the lead at the Copperhead Course at the Innisbrook Resort with tremendous confidence. It marked the second time Bradley had taken the 18-hole lead at the Valspar Championship in his last five starts.
While one can assume that Keegan Bradley knows his way around the Copperhead Course, there’s also another factor that affects him positively; his family. Bradley was all praise for his wife and kids who were out on the course to support him.

“They were there when I won my last tournament and now with COVID they don’t travel, really, hardly ever. So any tournament we drive to, they will come, but it’s just, it’s so great to have them out here and be around them. I’ll go back today and, doesn’t matter what I shoot, I got to go be a dad and play baseball and play golf in the backyard, which I look forward to,” he mentioned.

What Keegan Bradley loves about the Copperhead Course

The Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort has played host to the Valspar Championship ever since its inception in 2000. As for Keegan Bradley, he has five years of experience playing at this venue.
Bradley finished 31st at the 2018 Valspar Championship, a career-best for the veteran tour pro at the venue.

“Well I think that this golf course requires a lot of good ball-striking, a lot of shot shaping off the tee and into the greens and there’s some tough shots that sort of help out a guy that might be good at his numbers, hitting quality shots, and normally that’s what I do best. So on paper this is a great spot for me,” Bradley said about the Copperhead Course.

The Copperhead Course was ranked as the sixth most difficult course on the PGA Tour during the 2018-19 season. The layout is still challenging, and it remains to be seen if Bradley can sustain his momentum for three more rounds and emerge as the winner of the 2021 Valspar Championship!
