‘I Can’t Play Golf Today’: Bryson DeChambeau Raises Injury Concerns Following Disappointing Performance

Bryson DeChambeau has had a hard time this week competing in the Farmers Insurance Open. He struggled his way thru 36 holes and eventually missed the cut after round two. Bryson looked in a lot of pain in his lower back and wrist, especially in the second round at Torrey Pines.
Meanwhile, DeChambeau decided to continue playing and complete the 36 holes. He carded -2 for the event and missed the cut by a stroke. Notably, Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, and Adam Schenk lead the event with a score of -13. However, Bryson has missed the cut and he will get a couple of days more to recover.

Bryson DeChambeau struggles with injury at Farmers Insurance Open
Bryson DeChambeau, throughout round two, grabbed his lower back and massaged his left wrist. He even yelled in pain after a shot, which raised a question in the minds of fans regarding the seriousness of the injury. Notably, this is the first instance where he is struggling with an injury in his career.

He added around 40 pounds and increased his swing speed about two years ago to gain more distance off the tee. However, he is facing the consequences as the constant speed training has put his body under pressure. And on the 9th hole, Bryson yelled in pain and grabbed his lower back after bombing a tee shot.

Furthermore, on the 12th, after playing a shot from the bunker, “I can’t play golf today,” screamed Bryson. And after his tee shot on the 15th hole, he told his caddie sarcastically, “That felt really good on my wrist.”

The only good thing that happened to him was that he birdied the 17th and 18th holes. But with the increase in pain, his participation at the Saudi International next week could be doubtful. However, Bryson looks determined to compete and will hopefully recover well before boarding a long flight to Saudi.
