Jon Rahm Explains Why He’s A ‘Big Believer in Karma’
John Rahm last played the Open Championship and finished T3. He missed the Tokyo Olympics because of his COVID-19 diagnosis but is more than ready to make it to play the FedExCup Playoffs at the Northern Trust. At a recent presser for the event, Rahm spoke about karma, and why he chooses to believe in it.
He was asked about any secret motivation he has, and if it will be back to help him at the Northern Trust. He has won the US Open this year and will be headed to the upcoming event as the World No. 1. “Um, there’s no trick to it. Nothing special I can tell you, no secret ingredient that made me win that week. I’ve spoke extensively over it just because, like I said, being positive – the power of thinking positively – and that’s what I always did”.
Rahm added that he knew something good was on its way, but he did not know when and how it was going to take place. “ I’m a good person. I know I am, and good things happen to good people and I’m definitely a believer in karma to an extent so that’s what I was thinking”. Rahm explained that he knew it was that day right after the first swing, stating that it is also good to be aware that something good was coming.

After 4 weeks off, Jon Rahm said his second COVID+ was “a little harder to digest” than the one that bounced him from Memorial. Couldn’t explain it: Tested 5 days; only one was positive. Still, no-go for the Olympics.
“Still makes me a little sad, I’m not going to lie.”
