Jordan Spieth Is Finally Back Where He Belongs in Golf Rankings

Jordan Spieth has accomplished a lot in his career. And undeniably, he ranks pretty high up on the list of some of the best golfers in the world. Recently, though, his career had hit a rough patch (a title drought since 2017). However, the new PGA tour season proved to be a fresh start as he’s accomplished something that he last achieved three years ago.
A title-less 2018, a single top-10 finish in 2019, and continued struggles into 2020 saw him fall out of the top-50 rankings for the first time in his career. But all the incessant effort paid off as he finally notched a win at the Valero Texas Open in April 2021.

In a valiant effort this year, the 28-year-old has carded eight top-10 finishes in this year, with a few appearances still to come. Moreover, he contributed to the historic team USA victory at the 2021 Ryder Cup and went 1-2-1. However, another sweet moment came very recently as he finally broke into the top-10 rankings again.
The resurgence of Jordan Spieth
As the week 44 rankings Official World Golf Rankings came out, Jordan Spieth had a cause to celebrate. Previously ranked 13, the Dallas born golfer jumped over Tony Finau and Hideki Matsuyama to regain his top-10 rank, one he boasted of three years ago.

At this landmark moment, his yearly stats speak of a revealing tale. Even though he missed the cut in his first appearance of the year, he redeemed himself by carding a T-4 in the next. He finished two strokes behind winner Brooks Koepka at the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale.

The climb on the ladder
In his third appearance at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, he shot a great couple of rounds to finish T-3. T-15 and the Genesis Open and T-5 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational led up to what he had longed for most. He won the Valero Texas Open, his first win in 1,351 days! After this smashing victory, he finished off with a fabulous T-3 at the Masters.
In the past, Spieth has also held the world number one ranking for 26 weeks in his career. However, this is a great start for the man who has been at his lowest for the last couple of years. And with the way he’s playing, it all seems uphill from here, and we sincerely hope it is. What do you think?
