It feels like yesterday that Rickie Fowler made the cut with his debut professional tournament, the 2008 U. S. Open. He was just an amateur at the time. And here he is now, at the 2022 Honda Classic, choosing a career for his firstborn already.

The video PGA Tour has recently shared on their social media is the best thing a golf fan could ask for. The camera took a close-up of Rickie’s golf bag since it had a different name tag on it. The name tag belonged to none other than Maya Fowler, the three-month-old daughter of the golfer.

The badge contained not just her name but the logo of AJGA and the year ‘2040’ written on it. AJGA, aka American Junior Golf Association, is an NGO for developing the young golfing prodigies through competitive junior golf. Since Maya is just three months old, she would graduate from the organization only in 2040 seems to be the expectation.

Rickie and his wife Allison Stokke welcomed their firstborn on the 18th of November, 2021. Rickie had used his Instagram to share the happy news with the world.

Relationship of Rickie Fowler with the AJGA

While growing up, Rickie too was a part of the American Junior Golf Association. He had a really good track record while he was at the AJGA. 

Fowler was named Rolex Junior All-American in 2005 and 2006. He has also managed to get included in the ‘AJGA top 10’ 12 times in 13 starts. He had also won the 2006 HP Boys Championship at the Bay Hills.

After graduating from the AJGA, Fowler kept showcasing his quality golf as an amateur. Along with several awards, including the Nation’s Top Freshman, Rickie had helped Team USA win against Britain at the 2009 Walker Cup. He also had won many championships, including the Sunnehanna Amateur twice.

After turning pro in 2009, the golfer has won 9 championship titles worldwide, including The PLAYERS Championship in 2015. 

Rickie is an AJGA prodigy, and it is only fair he wants his child to choose the same career as him. Fowler wants his daughter to have an excellent foundation in her path to becoming a professional golfer. ANd only time will tell whether Rickie’s dream will turn into reality or not.
