15-year-old Czech Republican tennis player Linda Fruhvirtova won her first match on the WTA Tour. It was a memorable occasion as she beat French tennis player Alize Cornet, a former World No. 11 player. However, the one blip for the teenager was that Cornet had to retire from the match.
Taking note of this incredible achievement, French tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou hailed the teenager. For a 15-year-old player to win a match on a big stage is commendable. The super coach has followed the progress of the young Czech athlete keenly. He wants her to keep up the good work and believes that there are many more victories destined for her.
The 50-year-old coach went on to social media and stated, “Winning a WTA tour-level match at age 15 is a rare achievement. Congratulations to Linda, who I have seen growth every step of the way since she was 10. First of many! Wishing Alizé a speedy recovery.”

Patrick has been the coach of many top players on the Tour but his association with American legend Serena Williams stands out. He has guided Williams in her previous 10 Grand Slam titles. Mouratoglou also coaches Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas and American teenager Coco Gauff.
Reflecting on the match between Linda and Alize, the French tennis player was down a match point but saved it and kept her chances alive. However, she was let down by her serve and the youngster capitalized on her weak second serve. In the entire match, Cornet was broken an incredible 10 times.
