Russell Wilson Return Date Revealed; Seattle Seahawks Place Him On Injury Reserve List

Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson is on the Injury Reserve list on Friday because of his fractured finger sustained against the Rams. The earliest that he can return to the field for the Seahawks is on Week 10 when the franchise faces Packers.
Russell will itch with unease as it is for the first time in his career that he has been sidelined for the Seahawks. Although his return within a month seemed to be next to impossible however, the durable quarterback is about to make it happen.

Russell Wilson may return soon after a brutal injury
The 32-year-old quarterback sustained the injury during the third quarter of his game against the Los Angeles Rams. In the process of throwing the ball, Wilson got hit by the defensive tackle Aaron Donald, after which his right-hand middle finger looked out of its place.
After a thorough checkup, Dr. Steven Shin reported Wilson had suffered an extensor tendon rupture, and a comminuted fracture-dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal joint. Following his successful surgery, good news emerged that he might return sooner than expected.

During Wilson’s absence, they have handed the role of the starting quarterback to Geno Smith. Smith gave a gist of his artistic playmaking abilities in the fourth quarter against the Rams. And so it can be said that the Seahawks are safe in his hands.

With Geno Smith as the starting quarterback, the Seahawks will face the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New Orleans Saints and the Jacksonville Jaguars in their next three games in the regular season.
However, the Seahawks will need Wilson soon after he gets eligible to play. As the Packers are in a respectable form, this season and to get over them the team will need someone who hasn’t missed a game since 2012 until now.
Russell has delivered to the Seahawks on every occasion, leading the franchise to two Super Bowl appearances, winning one against the Broncos. Wilson has been named in each of the last Pro Bowls and has led the Seahawks to 100 regular-season wins. However, this week his streak of 149 consecutive games played with the franchise will end.
