Former AC Milan and Ukraine soccer legend Andriy Shevchenko was in Qatar as a special guest for the FIFA World Cup final. He recently returned from war-affected Ukraine. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has affected the people in the country, and everyone is busy garnering support for them. The war is still going on, and Shevchenko had a terrifying experience while in Ukraine.
Shevchenko wants the world to support his nation. The player is doing so by meeting several high-profile and impactful people around the globe. He spoke to Sky Sports before the final and shared his experience on his Ukraine visit. One such incident left the former Ballon d’Or winner horrified.

Andriy Shevchenko elaborates on his recent experience in Ukraine
Shevchenko, in his recent interview with Sky Sports, shared how close he was to being hit by the Russian drone. He said, “Yeah, I was very close to one. About 2km from the strike. One of the electric central generators (was hit) like we all know the Russians are trying to hit the critical infrastructure. The feeling (from the explosion) was very strong.” Asked how frightening it was for him and his fellow Ukrainians, Shevchenko calmly replied: “When I move to the war zone, I know this could happen.
He believes the people of Ukraine won’t give up and are united, despite Russia targeting the utilities. Moreover, he feels the coverage of the war is going down in the West and wants everyone to remind of the situation of people in Ukraine.
